CHILD CUSTODY INVESTIGATIONS.

A child custody case consists of either a male or female who feels that he or she is entitled to a child or children in a divorce action or a modification of a divorce. This can be gained through a temporary custody action or, it can be gained as a final custody action by the courts.

The pendulum is swinging in favor of the man over what it used to be. It used to be that a male had no chance for custody, almost to the point of stating that a woman could be a prostitute without losing her children in a custody fight. This is no longer true. In fact there are recent cases where the man has secured custody of a minor girl child where no unfitness was established on the part of the woman, but rather merely by showing that the man could provide a better environment for the child than she could.

The motive and purpose of a child custody case varies with the individual, but, to be realistic, it should bear on the sincere belief that the welfare of the children is paramount, and that the children will be based on the “I want to win” basis, but on a sincere belief that he or she can provide a better home and better conditions for those children. Once this has been established, a person has a solid basis for selling his case. A parent who truly believes this should exhaust every monetary effort to fulfill this belief.
